Marius Henriksen is head of the Musculoskeletal Research Unit (MSK) at The Parker Institute that encompasses several special interest groups. He has the responsibility of ensuring high scientific standards and that the studies conducted support the overarching strategy of The Parker Institute.
Marius Henriksen graduated as a Physiotherapist from the Copenhagen School of Physiotherapy in 2001, Master of Medical Sciences from Lund University in 2004, and received his PhD from Aalborg University in 2007. In 2015 he was appointed clinical professor in physiotherapy at University of Copenhagen.
Marius Henriksen’s current research activities are focused on management and treatment of osteoarthritis – particularly knee osteoarthritis. The focus is on non-surgical treatments with emphasis on exercise and weight loss.
Marius Henriksen has several ongoing research collaborations both locally, nationally and internationally, including researchers at other hospitals in Copenhagen and Denmark, The Netherlands, Austria, the US, and Australia. Marius Henriksen is editor of the scientific journal Osteoarthritis and Cartilage.
Marius Henriksen has supervised several PhD students; has an H index of 33, and have published more than 150 peer reviewed articles.
